Edward L. King, M.D.
Dr.
King has been in the practice of General Primary Care
since 1976, with a focus on Family Medicine. He limits
his practice to patients aged 18 months and older.
He was born in Bethesda, Md. and spent his early
years in the Arlington, VA area. After completing college
in Memphis he relocated to the Nashville and currently resides
with his wife Pam in the Old Hickory area. They have
two sons.
Dr. King completed his undergraduate degree at Memphis State University and
then completed Medical School at the University
of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. Subsequent to that Dr. King
interned in Emergency Medicine and Surgery at the
City of Memphis Hospitals.
He practiced initially at the Martin
(TN) Medical Center ER, then in Hendersonville in
an Emergicare
group, before joining Donelson Medical Group in 1983.
This group was purchased by HCA in 1994 and renamed
Summit Family Practice, and then had another ownership
change and the group went private again in 2000 with
the remaining members
forming
Summit
Primary Care. Dr. King has been with the Practice
throughout these changes.
He is a member of the American Medical Association,
Tennessee Medical Association and the Nashville Academy
of Medicine.
