Summit Primary Care
Superior Care for the Entire Family:
Infants to Seniors

Our Mission
Our health care professionals are dedicated to providing
your entire family, from infants to seniors, with the best primary medical
care in a friendly, caring, professional environment.
We promote wellness through preventive medicine visits, screenings and
annual check-ups. We also work very closely with the area specialists,
home care and hospice agencies, nursing homes and hospitals to improve
the health and lives of the people in our community.
SPC Services
We are conveniently located close to Summit Hospital and multiple
Outpatient testing centers as well as any type specialists your care
may require services from. We have added a second location which is
just across the street from our main building due to growth. Dr. Hamby
and Dr. King have moved their offices to this additional space. They
are now in Suite 352 at 3901 Central Pike. See the attached Hamby/King
move button to the left to get directions.
The entrances have covered drive-through patient drop-off areas to avoid
having to walk through any inclement weather, automatically opening doors.
We have wheelchairs available in the lobby of the main building and in the
new Suite for your use to accommodate patients who are unable to walk.
Our Electronic Medical Record System(EMR) is state of the art and allows
us to manage patients quality of care much better than practices without
an EMR. National standards regarding Preventive care and disease or condition
specific patient treatment are all supported by our EMR system improving your
wellness and condition specific health management.
Also, for your convenience, we can do many tests on-site so you do not have
to make another trip elsewhere for basic testing. We have an on-site
Laboratory, EKG testing, Pulmonary Function Testing, Hearing testing,
Osteoporosis screening, Urine Drug Testing for pre-employment, basic
cardiac ECHO testing, Cardio-Pulmonary Stress Testing, X-ray testing,
basic Ultra-sound testing, Basic Nerve Conduction studies for peripheral
pain screening, suture removal.
SPC also has a Walk-In Clinic(WIC) to accommodate patients with minor medical
problems who are unable to schedule an appointment. It is open from 7 AM to
7PM on Weekdays and from 8 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays. Our established patients
comment that it is very helpful for when they can't get out of work during
business hours and also when their Dr. is booked up during normal business
hours. New patients and self-pay patients tell us they prefer our WIC to
the doc-in-the boxes in the Pharmacies because we are much more full service,
our prices are comparable or better, and they get rapid access to our Dr.’s
as needed.
Hospital Care
If you need hospitalization, except for Dr. Hamby and Dr. Gaston Sr., your
SPC physician will personally oversee your admission and daily care and work
closely with any specialist physicians called in to attend to you in the hospital.
We are the only Family Practice Group in this area that admits and cares for our
patients personally when they are admitted to Summit Hospital.
Appointment Hours
Most SPC Doctors maintain appointment hours M-F from 8am to 11:30am and
from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Dr. King and Dr. Beckham start their appointments at 7:30 am M-F.
Operators are available to take appointment and other calls from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday
through Friday, and from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday.
Please note: Call during these hours to schedule an appointment. You cannot do it
through the on-call Dr. or by voice-mail. This is because the information we need to
schedule the proper amount of time for you with your Provider requires a question and
answer session with our Staff.
All incoming calls to Summit Primary Care are first processed by a telephone auto-attendant,
which allows you to get to many departments directly. After hours, emergency calls are
directed to the on-call physician's voice mail, which will automatically page the on-call
Dr. after you leave your message. They will call you back for any medical emergency to
discuss the situation with you.
