Summit Primary Care Hermitage Office

Our Mission

We are a group of health care professionals - family doctors serving Nashville and Hermitage - who are dedicated to providing for patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, with the best possible primary medical care, in a friendly, caring, professional environment.

Our family doctors serve the Nashville and Hermitage area by providing patients with preventative medicine visits, screenings and annual check-ups. We also work very closely with area specialists, home care and hospice agencies, nursing homes, and hospitals, to improve the health and lives of the people in our community

SPC Services

We are conveniently located near Summit Hospital, as well as the offices of many different types of specialists and outpatient testing centers. In addition to general family care, we offer our Nashville and Hermitage patients exceptional women's care, and elder care.

The entrance has a covered drive-through patient drop-off area to avoid having to walk through any inclement weather and automatically opening doors. We have wheelchairs available in the lobby for your use to accommodate patients who are unable to walk.

We now also offer free wireless internet access for guests in our building, so bring your netbooks or other wireless devices and browse the World Wide Web while you wait to see your Provider. For security reasons, the wireless network is password-protected and is changed the 1st of every month, so if you would like to connect to the internet while visiting us, then please ask the Front Desk for connection key information.

Our Electronic Medical Record system (EMR) is state-of-the-art. It allows us to manage the care of our patients much more efficiently and reliably than practices that rely on paper-based record-keeping systems. National standards regarding Preventive care and disease or condition specific patient treatment are all supported by our EMR system improving your wellness and condition specific health management.

Also, unlike many family doctors in the Nashville and Hermitage area, we are capable of performing many tests on-site, including EKG, pulmonary function testing, hearing testing, osteoporosis screening, urine drug testing, ECHO testing, cardio-pulmonary stress testing, x-rays, ultrasound, and more.

We also have a walk-in clinic, for all your unplanned visits. It is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sautrdays. Our established patients comment that it is very helpful for when they can't get out of work during business hours and also when their Dr. is booked up during normal business hours. New patients and self-pay patients tell us they prefer our WIC to the doc-in-the boxes in the Pharmacies because we are much more full service, our prices are comparable or better, and they get rapid access to our Dr.'s as needed.

Hospital Care

If you need hospitalization, except for Dr. Hamby and Dr. Gaston Sr., your SPC physician will personally oversee your admission and daily care and work closely with any specialist physicians called in to attend to you in the hospital. We are the only Family Practice Group in this area that admits and cares for our patients personally when they are admitted to Summit Hospital.

Appointment Hours

Most SPC Doctors maintain appointment hours M-F from 8am to 11:30am and from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. Dr. Gaston, Jr. and Dr. Beckham start their appointments at 7:00 am M-F.

Operators are available to take appointment and other calls from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday, and from 8:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday.

Please note: Call during these hours to schedule an appointment. You cannot do it through the on-call Dr. or by voicemail. This is because the information we need to schedule the proper amount of time for you with your Provider requires a question and answer session with our Staff.

All incoming calls to Summit Primary Care are first processed by a telephone auto-attendant, which allows you to get to many departments directly. After hours, emergency calls are directed to the on-call physician's voicemail, which will automatically page the on-call Dr. after you leave your message. They will call you back for any medical emergency to discuss the situation with you.
